Bormio, October 11, 2013. Yes, it's true, this is just the beginning but it's inevitable: the first snowfall of the year always brings joy and dreams and stays in the mind of people as something unique and memorable, especially if it has come at the beginning of October, moving up of a few weeks the come of winter.
The drop of temperatures and the strong precipitations have brought over 1 meter of fresh snow in the night of Bormio, mostly at high altitude. This morning Bormio 3000 was literally the ski paradise.
Snow has also falled very heavily in Bormio 2000 (50 cm), while in Bormio town we had only a few centimeters.
During the day the BormioSki men have started the preparation of the slopes starting the grooming machines in order to freeze up the snow, otherwise exposed to strong wind.
In addition to this, the artificial snow making system has been activated this morning to guarantee the official opening of the winter season set for Saturday, November 30, 2013.
