It is the Swiss Didier Defago, the Vancouver olimpic champion, to win the Bormio men's downhill with the time of 2'01.81; followed by the other Swiss Patrick Kueng. Third place for Klaus Kroel, the Austrian who had dominated the training race the previous day.
Italians not so good, unfortunately. Best position for Dominik Paris, only 9th. Innerhofer, the most expected, not in great shape since the beginning, missed. Defago's win was the real come-back of the day. He's been out for the whole last season due to a knee-injury. His experience gave him the chance to take advantage of all the fastest moments of the Stelvio, whose conditions were very different from what we had seen the previos days. During the race, in fact, clouds made the snow slower and riduced visibility on a slope that was very very tricky with its undulating ground. Many made mistakes and not only rookies even very talented and experienced skiers like Miller and Cuche.
The event was a big success. Thank you so much to the many fans who were on the side of the slopes and on the bleachers. Thank you for all your support. See you next year .
