The atmosphere of the World Cup is back in Bormio

Bormio, 03/26/2012 - In Bormio there's still snow and we are skiing like it was January.  The proof of this is the fact that we will have the ski alpine champions on our slopes for the next few days. In fact from Tuesday to Friday a number of athletes of the alpine ski world will train on the glorious slope "Stelvio" which is considered to be the hardest, most challenging and demanding slope in the world.

The athletes that will show up are Silvan Zurbriggen (Switzerland), Didier Defago (Switzerland), Matteo Marsaglia (Italy), Dominik Paris (Italy), Siegmar Klotz (Italy) and Peter Fill (Italy).

During this four-day training the skiers will have the chance to test the new materials for the next season; Paris and Klotz are sponsored by Nordica while all the others have their contract with Rossignol.

Training on the "Stelvio" slope is scheduled from "La Rocca" to "Ciuk" on a ski run which will look so much alike the downhill classic of December 29th. There's no better slope to test the new materials. The skiers will start off at 7.00 a.m. and get done by 11.00 a.m. .

To cross the piste in "Fontalonga" it will be always possible even during training; the slope will be closed when the skiers one after the other will pass by. When it's clear the staff in charge will let our clients go through. Then from 11.00 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. the "Stelvio" from "La Rocca" to "Ciuk" will be open for everyone.

The BormioSki people are very satisfied: having those champs in our home is always a great honor and having them on the Stelvio at this time of year make us proud because it means that our costant care on the snow, artificial snow making and the snow cats' work, paid off in the end, mostly this season which was a real disaster for what concerns weather.

And so now we will admire those champs at work very closely and we will try to steal some secrets.
