Winter is approaching, and anticipation is growing in Bormio as we prepare for a historic year.
In just one month we’ll be back on the slopes: from 5 December 2025 to 12 April 2026, the ski area reopens for a new season of Vertical Fun, with legendary descents, breathtaking views, and pure freedom on the snow.
The Stelvio on the road to the Olympic Games
This year, Bormio will not host the traditional men’s Alpine Ski World Cup races.
The reason is extraordinary: the Stelvio slope will take centre stage at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.
From 7 to 21 February 2026, our ski area will host the competitions of two disciplines:
• Men’s alpine skiing
• Ski mountaineering
An international spotlight that will once again place Bormio at the heart of world-class sport.
A season unlike any other
To ensure the safe running of the competitions, lift operations cannot be guaranteed during the following period:
• 1 to 16 February 2026 – full closure
• 17 to 22 February 2026 – limited openings
The season will continue as normal in the nearby ski areas of Santa Caterina Valfurva and Cima Piazzi–San Colombano, which will remain fully open to welcome skiers.
Live the most awaited winter ever: ski before and after the event that will make ski history!

For Bormio’s seasonal skiers: SnowitPass is here
For the 2025/2026 season, the traditional season pass has been replaced with SnowitPass, the pay-per-use card that lets you ski without purchasing a skipass in advance.
Once the card is activated, you only pay for the time you actually ski, and each ski day contributes to reaching the seasonal spending threshold.
Once you reach the threshold, all your ski days for the rest of the season will be free. Discover more.
