Panoramic Views Along Bormio’s Water Trail
The Path of Purity is a themed walk designed for families and children, created to offer a closer look at Bormio’s natural environment and Alpine landscape through the theme of water.
The route starts at Bormio 2000, easily accessible from the town by lift, and follows the Water Trail, a pleasant path through the forest, surrounded by conifers, clearings and scenic views over the Bormio valley.
Along the way, information boards introduce adults and children to water and its role in the mountain ecosystem, exploring the natural cycle of springs, biodiversity and the delicate balance connecting water, forests, wildlife and the local environment.
The route is also enriched by wooden sculptures created by local artists, inspired by nature and the Alpine landscape. These installations become features to observe and discover along the walk, making the experience especially engaging for children.
The route is approximately 4 km long, with an elevation gain of around 170 metres and moderate gradients. It does not involve any particular technical difficulties and is suitable for families, although appropriate footwear and a basic level of fitness are recommended.
At the end of the route, visitors can return to Bormio 2000 along the same path or continue along the Water Trail towards Santa Caterina Valfurva.
With its information boards, installations and natural surroundings, the Path of Purity gives children plenty to discover along the way, turning the walk into an opportunity to observe, learn about and enjoy the mountains.
The project was created by Bormio Tourism with the support of Levissima, in collaboration with local organisations and Stelvio National Park.
