Here we go..! Bormio has finally made a big step into the national gravity world! From July 5, 2014 Società Impianti Bormio is launching a new project, named “Bormio Bike” – an equipped bike park offering mtb trails of different disciplines like downhill, freeride and cross country for all levels, from beginner to pro.
The big news of the summer is related to the downhill tracks on the Mt. Vallecetta – an authentic brand new attraction for Bormio. The trails will be served by two lifts: the cableway Bormio-Bormio 2000 and the cablecar “Whitelady3000″. The shaped lines will start from Conca Valbella (2,600 m) and will end 600 meter below, to Bormio 2000. Fun is guaranteed with jumps, natural and artificial obstacles, steep slopes and drops on two main routes and many variations. A bike rental is going to be provided to give the chance to anyone to try the shivering experience of DH mountain biking.
The summer season of Bormio will end with a smashing event. The bike park is hosting the prestigous final of the Italian Downhill Champs on September 13-14, 2014. Hundreds of pro riders are awaited in Bormio to make a great show and fight for the national title. The race will take place in two runs: qualifying run on Saturday and Grand Finale on Sunday. The Championships are hosted in four Italian resorts before their final drop in Bormio: Caldirola (AL), Sestola (MO), Abetone (PT) and Fai della Paganella (TN). The Champs are organized by Gravitalia and sponsored by Federazione Ciclistica Italiana.
