Snow Making

Every year pass and by we are looking at this phenomenon called  ”twisting of seasons”. Years ago winter would always come with big snowing from the sky that would guarantee the regular preparation of slopes and their opening. It’s not like that anymore. Snow making has become fundamental.

BormioSki has decided to trust the high technology and experience of Technoalpin, leader company of  this field, investing about 8.5 millions of euros for a super system that enables us to achieve very high standards. To give you the perfect example, in 2005 we hosted the Alpine Ski World Cup which took place entirely on artificial snow!

Our snow making system is equipped with 300 snow points and 160 cannons, of which 120 immobile and 40 mobile. Those have a production capacity of 1.250 mc/h which guarantees excellent snow making on 80 % of the slopes.

On FIS request this summer we have bettered our water supply net making it even more powerful. Thanks to this we are now able to make snow at the same time on the Stelvio Slope for the World Cup Race (every December 29th) and on the slopes for tourists.
