Freeride Tour: the itineraries

Writtten by freeski (SCImmiati.com) on February 15th, 2012

Hi everyone! We’re pleased to announce that the Freeride tour Valtellina is back on track. Let’s go into details: with this article we are trying to describe the freeride tours we are going to do this Saturday and Sunday in Bormio. A special thanks goes to the mountain guides who have gone seeking for “secret spots” and they assure they’ve found powder! We hope you’d like to join us. The menu is rich and tasty!

The Vallone

First itinerary – Vallone: from the peak of the Monte Vallecetta all the way down to Cepina. Freeriding here is at medium difficulty, breathtaking view, many cliffs and narrow channels. From the arrival of the cable car we will have to walk up on the ridge for about 15 minutes to reach the top of the Monte Vallecetta.

Second itinerary – From 3000 meters to 1250. Average lenght: 1 hour. Easy. Our guides have discovered a new area which is surprising for the thick amount of snow. We are taking the cable car again, reaching 3000 and then we are skiing down on the other side of the mountain. This itinerary will take us to Santa Caterina where there will be a bus bringing us back to Bormio (the bus ticket is included in the total price). This trail is easier than the other one, passages are less technical and give extraordinary moments of fresh powder.

We’d like to remind you that the event starts in the morning with a one hour lesson about the use of ARTVA and self rescue.
